Frisco ISD is the premier public school district in Dallas-Fort Worth serving students who live within the District's attendance zone in Frisco, Plano, McKinney and Little Elm.

June 10-July 30, 2025 - Students who have been attending Frisco ISD schools based on a previous address can now remain in the same feeder pattern, even if their family moves outside the district.

Opens June 23, 2025 - Students can attend Frisco ISD schools if they have a grandparent living within the district boundaries.

Non-Frisco ISD residents are invited to transfer and shine brighter through the unique student opportunity model Frisco ISD has to offer.

Frisco ISD residents have several elementary and middle schools open for transfers.

The children of employees can attend Frisco ISD schools.

A student living within Frisco ISD, apart from their legal guardian, can attend FISD schools if the legal guardian assigns educational rights to the non-guardian with whom the student is living.

Families living with a relative or friend within Frisco ISD who cannot provide proof of residency in their name can complete a Family Residency Affidavit to prove residency for a student to attend Frisco ISD.

Students who are the children of service members or peace officers can seek admission to Frisco ISD.

The McKinney-Vento Act is a federal law that ensures immediate enrollment for children experiencing homelessness, so they have equal access to a free and appropriate public education.


When reviewing applications for student transfers, Frisco ISD considers each request individually; however, the Administrative Transfer Guidelines are in place to ensure consistency in the process.
