Prekindergarten Registration
Registration is open now for the 2025–26 school year. Registration for the 2026–27 school year will open on April 1, 2026.
Registration opens after April 1 each year and is completed electronically. If your child is already enrolled as a 3-year-old in walk-in speech or at the Early Childhood School, no further action is needed. You’ll receive a “snapcode” by email in the spring to update your child’s registration.
Step 1: Check Eligibility
Children must be 4 years old on or before September 1 and live within Frisco ISD boundaries.
Program options:
State-Funded Pre-K (Free): Must meet at least one of the eligibility criteria
Tuition-Based Pre-K (In-District Only): For children who don’t qualify for state-funded Pre-K. Seats are limited and children must be potty trained.

Applications are processed in the order received. Every child who qualifies for the state-funded Pre-K program will have a seat.
Processing timelines:
April–May: Processing begins late April; emails continue through summer.
June and later: Applications usually reviewed within 1 business week.
Step 3: Next Steps After Applying
You’ll receive an email with next steps once eligibility is reviewed.

If your child may qualify due to limited English proficiency, you’ll be asked to schedule an in-person language assessment after your application is reviewed.
For the upcoming school year: Assessments are scheduled after the current school year ends, since school staff conduct the testing. Families will be contacted to set up an appointment.
For the current school year: Assessments are offered weekly throughout the year so students can be admitted on a rolling basis.
