Welcome to Frisco ISD

Frisco Independent School District serves students who live within the District's attendance zone in Frisco, Plano, McKinney and Little Elm. Frisco ISD continues to welcome new students from across the state, country and world.

Below you will find helpful information to help you become familiar with FISD, our schools and the enrollment process. You will also find answers to some of the questions that we commonly hear from relocating families. Frisco ISD wants to help make your transition as smooth as possible.

Zoning and Enrollment

Find your Campus
Not sure which school your student/s are zoned to attend? Search your address or check zones by map, street name or subdivision. If your address falls near the District boundary, you may wish to contact us to verify attendance.

Enrolling in Frisco ISD
Once you have enrolled, including returning proof of residency and any updated immunization records, you are sent a welcome email that includes your child’s student ID number. If you missed the email, please check your junk or spam folder. Save this ID number as it is the key to all of your next steps.

School Calendar & Hours

Download the full calendar or sync specific calendars to your phone. The A/B calendar is a resource for high school students who take only half of their classes on any given school day.

For middle school students, each Monday, Tuesday and Friday, students attend their full, eight-period day schedule. On Wednesdays, students only attend their “odd” classes. On Thursdays, students will attend their “even” classes. Access the bell schedule on your campus website.

In Texas, each district is required to provide a total of 75,600 minutes of instruction to students each school year. Access the school hours for your child’s campus. High school and middle school campuses publish their bell schedule on the campus website.

School Supplies

Elementary
Elementary campuses post their school supply lists on the campus website. Kindergarteners and first graders have access to iPads and second through fifth graders have Chromebooks at a 1:1 ratio. Learn about the elementary 1:1 Technology Program.

Secondary
Some middle schools post their school supply lists on their campus website. In middle and high schools, required supplies can depend on the unique courses the student has selected. During the first week of school, teachers inform students what they need for the class. Middle school students do not utilize lockers, and should plan to carry their backpack class to class.

Secondary students should bring paper, a writing utensil and folder on the first day of school. Students taking Algebra I and above have access to a class set of TI-84 graphing calculators for use during class. Secondary students are encouraged to check out a Chromebook from their campus. Learn more about the 1:1 Technology Program. Some secondary classes, like art, have required supply fees. Class fees can be found in the course catalog.

Meals & Transportation

Meals
Frisco ISD urges families who may qualify for meal benefits due to low family income to apply for reduced/free meals. In addition to free school meals, there are a number of additional benefits that students can receive when a family qualifies and shares their eligibility status.

The District uses the SchoolCafé system for online meal account prepayments. Once you have set up your child's meal account, you can easily print the monthly menu options or download the app to access them from your phone.

Transportation
Frisco ISD uses a computerized routing and mapping system as the standard by which all eligibility measurements are made. Transportation is available for children who live two miles or more from their assigned school, with a few exceptions. See if you qualify and find your bus route.

Student and Parent Accounts

The Portal
Parents, staff and students access The Portal with their logins to access information unique to them.

  • Parents have access to a “one-stop shop” where guardians can secure access to specific student information and forms to request student transfers and off-campus PE.

  • Students will find vital access to online resources like Google Apps and Canvas, as well as student email, electronic textbooks, academic websites and the Home Access Center for secondary students.
