Today’s students must learn how to work both independently and collaboratively, embrace challenges, develop creative solutions to problems, and navigate technology in unprecedented, ever-changing ways. Frisco ISD’s Advanced Academics Department equip students for their exciting futures by offering a wide variety of courses, programs, and competitions that appeal to many interests, experiences, and educational goals.
Advanced Academics Offerings
For students seeking college credit while in high school, Frisco ISD offers 30 Advanced Placement (AP) courses, including the AP Capstone program, dual credit courses, and International Baccalaureate (IB) courses. For students identified as gifted and talented, FISD offers programming from K-12 to support and nurture their unique learning needs. Students seeking to challenge themselves academically may apply to participate in the Independent Study and Mentorship (ISM) program or participate in one of our numerous academic competitions, such as Academic UIL or Academic Decathlon.

Advanced Academics Goal
The Advanced Academics Department’s goal is to help students achieve their individualized goals for their future, including preparing students for attending college, pursuing careers, or serving in the military.
