Mind Above Matter

Frisco ISD has partnered with Mind Above Matter’s mental health program to serve high school students facing significant social and emotional challenges.

Mind Above Matter provides comprehensive mental health services through their own staffing and therapeutic materials during school hours, including:

  • Individual therapy

  • Group therapy

  • Family therapy

  • Specialized interventions such as art and music therapy;

  • Medication management is also integrated as needed

Mind Above Matter is designed for individuals transitioning from inpatient hospital care or requiring more support than traditional weekly therapy.

Located at the Career and Technical Education Center, the partnership aims to bridge a critical gap in mental health services for students by providing intensive counseling services.

Through this collaboration, Mind Above Matter will offer essential mental health services, enhancing the District’s existing support systems. This approach aims to significantly reduce the stigma associated with mental health while ensuring students have access to crucial support during and after school hours The program allows students to remain enrolled in their classes and receive Interim Learning educational services while receiving mental health support.

Parents seeking more information about Mind Above Matter are encouraged to contact their student’s school counselor or FISD Hospital Liaison Beth Hemby at HembyE@friscoisd.org.
