FRISCO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR’S RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 12.22 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $130.

The above statement refers to the Tax Ratification Election on the November ballot, but only describes the proposal to increase the operations tax rate. If voters approve the higher rate, a Board-adopted resolution would reduce the debt tax rate to offset the increase. In 2018, the total tax rate will be two cents lower than in 2017, reducing the number used to calculate a property owner’s total tax bill. See more details here.
