Texas Primary Elections

Primary elections in Texas are very important. Over 90% of Texas elections are determined in the primary. The primary decides which candidates will be on the ballot in November. Texas primary elections produce very low turnout. This means a very small percentage of Texans are choosing who represents us in legislative and statewide offices. An active voter in Texas must participate in the primary elections.

To vote in this year's primary, you must be registered to vote by February 5, 2018.
