About Us

Our Mission

The mission of the Frisco ISD Government Affairs department is to engage stakeholders in the legislative process to enhance our students' educational experience.

How do we accomplish our mission

Engage with the Frisco ISD Community
We developed a Legislative Leadership Committee made up of 90 stakeholders from across the district who represent the Frisco ISD community. This group works to develop legislative priorities for adoption by the Board of Trustees, receives updates regarding pending legislation and provides feedback throughout the legislative session.

Engage with Partners
We have worked with over 60 other school districts and partner organizations from across the state to share resources and information regarding pending legislation. We also developed a grassroots network of more than 30 school districts in Regions 10 and 11 who collaborate in regular workshops to review and analyze proposed legislation. This statewide collaboration helps us to fully understand the impact state action has on districts across the state as well as Frisco ISD.

Engage with Legislators
We have positioned ourselves to serve as a resource for legislators on education-related issues. Rather than taking a stance, we remain neutral on proposed legislation, which enhances our credibility when providing factual information on how bills will impact students and school districts. We approach each session with a positive, collaborative, and solution-oriented approach. This approach allows us to advocate for students’ educational experiences while remaining outside the political fray.
