• The original scope of the project was planned through 2025. Following the failure of the 2024 bond program, funds were reallocated to extend the available funds for regular maintenance through 2027

• Scope:

• Replace major building systems near the end of their useful life before failure

• Routine paint and carpet updates to ensure a clean, healthy learning environment

• Miscellaneous repairs as needed to ensure systems function properly and limit disruptions to student learning

Retrofit campuses with LED lighting

• Original Bond Cost: $20 million

• Total Spent to Date (as of June 2025): $4.9 million

• Projected Total Cost: $13 million

• Scope: Replace lighting in schools not originally built with energy-efficient, higher quality LED lighting. LED lighting has a 6-year return on investment with lights lasting 10-12 years.

• Scope: Replace wood chips on all elementary playgrounds with synthetic materials.

Update and/or replace furniture and equipment in older campuses

• Total Spent to Date (as of June 2025): $40.9 million

• Projected Total Cost: $42 million

• Scope: Update worn and dated furniture, provide flexible seating to accommodate active learning and various instructional styles. Student furniture would be replaced after 15 years, and furniture in good condition would be used to replace broken furniture at the other campuses.

Update and refresh 25-year-old campuses

• Original Bond Cost: $29 million

• Total Spent to Date (as of June 2025): $21.8 million

• Projected Total Cost: $41.9 million

• Scope: Life cycle and preventative maintenance to mechanical systems, paint and carpet. 25-year-old campuses could have architectural changes to suit instruction and provide flexibility for current learning practices. Replacement of tiles/flooring and restroom renovations.

• Curtsinger Elementary received a 25-year refresh in 2021

• Smith Elementary received a 25-year refresh in 2021

• Staley Middle School 25-year refresh is currently on hold.
