Field-Based Experiences
Field-based experiences in Frisco ISD are referred to as requirements for teacher certification through an alternative certification program (ACP) or experiences for candidates not affiliated with a college or university educator preparation program.
Examples include:
Reflective [classroom] observation hours not to exceed 50 hours
Field-based experiences that are not paired with clinical teaching
No set amount of hours with a Cooperating teacher
Also referred to as short-term reflective [classroom] observations in Frisco ISD
Candidates not affiliated with a college or university educator preparation program (e.g., alternative certification programs) must complete the process outlined below. Frisco ISD welcomes all interested individuals to complete classroom observations, pending availability. Placements will be honored only during the dates and times specified below.

Reflective [Classroom] Observation Placement Process
Please review the guidelines below before beginning your application. Once your application and background check are approved, you will receive an approval letter authorizing you to contact participating campuses directly.

Step Three: Placement
If approved, you will receive a letter confirming your eligibility to observe in Frisco ISD, subject to availability.
After receiving your approval letter, you must contact participating campuses directly to confirm observation opportunities.
Step Four: Classroom Observations
Observations must be completed by March 31st (Spring); November 30th (Fall).
Once approved by a campus, you must follow all visitor procedures, including signing in and out daily and presenting a valid state-issued photo ID upon arrival.
