How the Application, Lottery & Registration Process Works

The Access Frisco process includes application, placement, records review and final enrollment. Below is a step-by-step overview to help you know what to expect.

Access Frisco placements are based on available space at each campus. Because demand can vary, campus availability may change throughout the application process.

Step 1: Submit Your Application (Priority Window = Lottery)

Families who applied during the Priority Application Window (Jan 12-24) were entered into a randomized lottery for campus placement.

Applications submitted after the priority window will be processed within two weeks of submission on a first-come, first-served basis, and notifications of placement will be sent to families via email.

Applications are reviewed regularly, and families are notified by email when a placement update is available.

Step 2: Lottery Results Notification

You will receive an email notification of your placement status. Your student may receive one of the following:

  • Provisional Seat: Your student has been offered a seat at a campus. This offer is conditional and requires a records review and final approval before enrollment is confirmed.

  • Waitlist: A seat is not currently available. Your student remains eligible and may be offered placement if space becomes available.

Step 3: Accept Your Provisional Offer

If you receive a seat offer, you must accept it within 14 days to continue the process.

  • Accepting the offer allows Frisco ISD to begin requesting student records.

  • Offers not accepted within 14 days may be released to waitlisted families.

  • Accepting a seat removes your student from any other Access Frisco waitlists.

Final enrollment is confirmed after student records are reviewed and eligibility requirements are verified.

Step 4: Records Request + Review

After you accept the offer:

  • Frisco ISD will request records from your student’s current school, if applicable.

  • Records typically take two to three weeks to arrive.

  • Missing or incomplete documents may delay review.

  • Records are reviewed in the order they are received.

This is typically the longest step in the process and may take several weeks to complete.

Step 5: Final Approval Decision

Once records have been reviewed, families will receive one of the following:

  • Approved: Your student is officially accepted and will be enrolled at the assigned campus soon.

  • Denied: You will receive additional information explaining the decision. Eligibility details can be found on the Access Frisco eligibility page

Step 6: Enrollment for Approved Students

Your Access Frisco application also serves as your registration form.

  • No additional registration form is required unless we contact you for documentation.

  • Approved students will receive a district welcome email with their assigned student ID once the final enrollment process is complete.

  • Your campus will follow up with campus-specific information and will be your contact going forward.
