Staley Updates

The Frisco ISD Board of Trustees continues to discuss the future of Staley Middle School. At a Board workshop Aug. 26, Trustees were presented with several options for the campus, including:

  • A minor refresh ($19.6 million)

  • A full refresh ($24.5 million)

  • Constructing a new building ($85 million)

  • Retiring Staley at the end of the 2025–26 school year

A key consideration as discussions move forward is the need for extensive, costly plumbing repairs that would affect the entire campus and possibly displace students for one and two years.

At the Board workshop, Trustees also reviewed an additional demographic report received this summer, which shows enrollment is expected to decline across the District — another important factor in the decision-making process.

If Staley is retired and rezoning becomes necessary, Trent, Griffin, and Hunt middle schools are the likely receiving campuses. A draft map of possible new boundaries was shared during the presentation.
