Summer School Program for ESL Students

Frisco Independent School District will offer a summer school program for qualifying secondary English language learners who currently attend Frisco ISD, as well as elementary students who qualify as incoming kindergarten and first grade English language learners.

Qualifying students will have the opportunity to participate in enrichment activities designed around a  curriculum that will integrate a problem-solving model and reading strategies.

2022 Summer Program for Incoming Kindergarten (Currently enrolled ESL preschool students) and First Grade ESL Students

  • Frisco ISD will provide a summer school program for students participating in the ESL or Bilingual program who are eligible for admission to kindergarten and first grade at the beginning of the next school year. The goal of both programs is to enable English learners to become competent in the reading, listening, speaking, and writing of the English language through the development of literacy and academic skills in grade level content areas.

    May 24-June 23, 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
    In person learning Monday-Thursday
    Off on Memorial Day
    Asynchronous learning on Fridays
  • The ESL program is offered at no cost to the family. Parents/guardians for students who qualify for the summer program will receive an invitation to participate via email. District devices are available upon request for students to participate in asynchronous learning on Fridays.

2021 Summer Programs for 6-12 ESL Students

  • Frisco ISD will provide a summer school program for students participating in the ESL or Bilingual program who meet the program criteria. ESL 6-12 Summer School is a program that focuses on developing output, speaking and writing, proficiency for students using project based learning that centers around community connections and research practices essential for success at the secondary level.

    June 6-June 30, 10:30-12:30 and 1:30-3:30
    Virtual learning Monday-Thursday
    Asynchronous learning on Fridays
  • Online 
    District devices are available upon request if needed for students to participate in the online learning.
