Secondary Summer School

Vision: Prepare learners for success in futures they create.

Mission Statement: To create and foster a supportive environment through exploratory learning experiences that promote academic growth and allows students to engage in meaningful instruction and build their social and emotional capacity.

Secondary Summer School provides learning opportunities for FISD students entering grades 9-12 in the 2021-22 school year, as well as Out-of-District students, who need to take courses for credit recovery or wish to do so for advancement. Frisco ISD also provides students in grades 6-8 with options for credit recovery in Math, English, Science and Social Studies.

2021 FISD Secondary Summer School

  • The purpose of summer school is to provide students with opportunities to master the objectives and TEKS of the course they are taking. All courses will be delivered using the Edgenuity, Proximity, or Canvas online platforms allowing lessons to be accessed from home computers and devices.  

    Middle School:
    Synchronous learning -morning meetings scheduled by teacher
    Social-Emotional Learning and activities provided by counselors and teachers    

    High School:
    Asynchronous learning
    **SEL provided by School Counselor
    **For the FISD Class of 2023, Summer School credit recovery courses will be factored into a student's GPA. And, starting with the Class of 2024, all Summer School courses will be factored in to a student's GPA.

    $200 - per course
    $100 - Reduced Lunch per course
    $50 - Free Lunch per course

    High School Cost
    $225 - per semester
    $100 - Reduced Lunch per semester
    $50 - Free Lunch per semester
    $50 - Testing Prep Program
  • Registration will open in ​April 19. Registration ends for original credit on May 14 and May 25 marks the end of registration for credit recovery.​ All course fees must be paid in full by May 27, 2021. Registration information webinars will be on the following dates:

    Note: This is only for middle school students who need remediation for failed courses during the school year. Eighth grade families interested in options for high school credit advancement should attend our Secondary Summer School webinars.
