2019-20 Graduation Information

Frisco ISD has partnered with Toyota Stadium/FC Dallas to host outdoor graduation ceremonies. Please see the schedule below for individual campus dates and times.

There are certain social distancing protocols that will be implemented as directed by the Governor and TEA Commissioner for these ceremonies to take place in person. Additional information about these guidelines is covered in the FAQ section below.

Graduation FAQ

Tickets and Event Information

Attendance at the graduation ceremony is optional. Students will receive a diploma cover, and actual diplomas will be mailed to all graduates.  Students who do not attend will also receive their diploma cover by mail.

In order to ensure safety for all graduates, FISD employees, and attendees, eight graduation tickets will be issued per graduate. Toyota Stadium will be issuing tickets with assigned seats. Seats will be assigned to adhere to Texas Education Agency and state guidelines.  Please make note of the following information: 

  • Monday, 5/25 by 5 p.m. – students will receive an email with ticket information, the health screening questionnaire,  and a link to a ticket request form.

  • Tuesday, 5/26-Monday, 6/1 – FC Dallas customer service hotline, 469-365-0102, will open 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. daily to answer questions regarding tickets.

  • Day before your student’s graduation by 6 p.m. - you will receive tickets from at the email address you provide in the request form.

  • Day of graduation - gates open an hour before graduation, and the Toyota Stadium North Box Office will be open to assist parents with ticket questions.

  • Only one ticket request per student may be submitted.

  • Requests can be for up to 8 tickets, and seats will be assigned in groups of 4.

  • The graduations will be broadcasted on NFHS Network. Family members who prefer or need to stay home due to health concerns may watch the graduation online. Links will be posted on the graduation website. 

Tickets will be pre-assigned so that up to eight family members may sit together. If eight members of your family will not be coming, those seats should not be given to others outside your family for safety reasons during COVID-19.

The graduation ceremonies will be live-streamed and recordings will be posted on the website.

Frisco ISD will communicate any delays or cancellations of graduations by sending an email, text message and phone call to all senior parents. In addition, information will be posted to the districts social media and website, as well as the campus website.

In case of inclement weather and FISD is not able to hold a ceremony on the scheduled day and time, make up graduations will be held on May 31, June 2 and June 3. Communication as to when a campus graduation will be made up will be released the day of cancellation.

Umbrellas will be permitted at Toyota Stadium, and the ceremony will continue during drizzle or light rain. In the event of heavy rain, lighting or severe weather, students will be removed from the field and taken to a covered area while the storm passes. Observers will be required to leave the stadium until the weather conditions improve and will be allowed back into the stadium when the ceremony is able to resume.

Stadium Information

The bag policy will not be in effect for graduation. You will be able to bring water into the stadium in a plastic water bottle or reusable bottle. Umbrellas, cameras, and camera bags will also be permitted.

Concession stands will be open for the purchase of water and sodas during graduation.

Graduates driving themselves or families driving a graduate should park in the lot east of the stadium (Sienna South Blue Lot). Guests may park in the Sienna North Blue Lot, the Camry Gold Lot,  the Corolla Red Lot, or parts of the Tundra Platinum Lot. You may access the parking map HERE. We ask that all guests park in the Toyota Stadium lots and do not park south of Main Street. After the ceremony is over, please exit to the north rather than accessing Main Street in order to help with the traffic flow.  

Yes, wheelchair access and seating is available. Any entrance may be used. Guests must provide their own wheelchairs and assistance. Seating is located on the concourse and is available on a first-come basis.

Health/Safety Information

Masks will be provided for all graduates and staff working graduation ceremonies. For health and safety purposes, all graduates and staff members participating in/ working the ceremony will be required to wear masks. Graduates may remove their masks  when walking the stage and for the professional photo that will be taken. Attendees are highly encouraged to wear masks.

Alcohol-based hand sanitizer will be available at all entrances to the stadium.

Per the Texas Education Agency’s guidance during COVID-19 and with the issuing of Executive Order No. GA-21, prior to attending the ceremony, participating students and attending family members must be screened. An electronic screening form will be sent with the ticket request form that will be e-mailed to students. The health screening form must be completed before the ticket request will be made available.  The following symptoms will be listed on signs outside of the stadium as a reminder:

  • Cough

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

  • Chills

  • Repeated shaking with chills

  • Muscle pain

  • Headache

  • Sore throat

  • Loss of taste or smell

  • Diarrhea

  • Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit

  • Known close contact with a person who is lab confirmed to have COVID-19 if exposure to the active confirmed case occurred within the last 14 days.

Yes, the stadium will be disinfected between ceremonies.

Staff will be directing guests as they enter the stadium to remain distanced and to find their assigned seats. Guests will be directed to exit the stadium allowing the top rows to exit first. Families may choose to arrive late and/or leave after their student receives their diploma in order to space out the exiting of the stadium. Please note that all graduates must arrive on time, one hour prior to the scheduled graduation start time, in order to participate in commencement activities.

Graduates will be directed by staff in the North East corner of the stadium to enter the stadium through the tunnel.  They will then be directed to their seats which will be at least six feet apart.  After walking the stage, receiving a diploma, and taking a photo, graduates will have the choice to exit the stadium or return to their seat. Staff members will be on site to help direct students according to whether they choose to leave or stay.

Frisco ISD must follow social distancing protocols as required by the Governor's executive order and TEA protocols. Entry and exit procedures have been developed to abide by the executive order and protocols. It is paramount that facilities have proper time between ceremonies for disinfection of the stadium between ceremonies as well as interval times for families to exit to avoid large groupings.  

Please note that all graduation ceremonies will be live streamed.

No, the principal will not be handing out the diplomas and there will not be hand-shaking.  Each student will take his or her diploma cover from a table. All diploma covers loaded onto the table will be done so by a staff member wearing a mask and gloves.

Diplomas and Programs

Campuses will be mailing out printed diplomas to each graduate and will include the diploma cover for any student who did not attend the ceremony.

Campuses will mail out printed diplomas to each graduate.  Please ensure the campus has your correct address on file by checking in Home Access Center (HAC) under the “registration” icon.

Programs will be available at the ceremony. Those who do not attend the ceremony will have programs included in the package mailed with the diploma and diploma cover. 


Teachers have been given the opportunity to volunteer at each ceremony. Those who are able to attend will be assisting with student support throughout the event.

No. In order to maintain appropriate social distancing practices, graduates will not be allowed to leave their seats, except to receive their diploma and/or to exit the stadium. Graduates should take care of their personal needs prior to checking in.
