Our 7th grade mathematicians put their percent skills to the test with a MONSTER-sized relay challenge! Students raced to solve percent problems and worked together to create some one-of-a-kind monsters!

October is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month!
National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM), launched in October 2004, continues to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity across our Nation and helps ensure that individuals, families, schools, and communities have resources they need to be safer and more secure online. Congratulations to all the band students who auditioned for Frisco ISD’s third annual Middle School District Band! The audition process, which looks similar to All-Region and All-State auditions, is intended to increase focus on the development of individual musicianship. Over 900 students from across all FISD middle schools tried out, and 271 students made the band. Find a full list.

Wednesday, October 7th, is National Walk to School Day. Wilkinson MS will be participating in this event this year. National Walk to School Day encourages more students to walk/bike to school and shows them that walking in our community is safe. If your student would like to participate, we will meet at the park in Hollyhock at Trumpet Vine and Button Wood. A map of the area is attached. The red is where we are meeting. The yellow is our walking route. We will meet at the playground at 7:25 a.m. to arrive at school by 7:55 a.m. We hope to see your student at our National Walk to School Day, Wednesday, October 7th, at 7:25 a.m., at the park in Holly Hawk, on Holly Hawk Park, Trumpet Vine, and Button Wood

7th grade students practiced calculating percentages by applying their skills to real-world situations involving sales tax, tips, and discounts.
The Frisco ISD Book Bus is ready to hit the road in October, sharing literacy fun and free books with children from around the FISD area.

Learning ways to remember the difference between Solvents, Solutes, and Solutions in Science class!
In K-9 Connect, students were given 5 rounds of “mystery” writing challenges. Students blindly retrieved random, miniature items from a bag and had to include those items in their own writing somehow alongside other surprise elements!
7th grade Texas History students came to the library to learn all about the Spanish missions in Texas.
Staff, students, parents and community members selected to serve on District committees for the 2026-27 school year were notified this week following approval by the Board of Trustees at its regular September meeting. Each committee is part of the larger District Advisory Council, which provides feedback to the Board on District initiatives, goals, programs and compliance-related matters. The District is grateful for everyone who volunteered their time and interest to serve.
Calendar Committee: As work begins on the 2027-28 instructional calendar, Frisco ISD is first soliciting stakeholder feedback to guide the District’s calendar committee. The 2027-28 Instructional Calendar Survey is open Sept. 17-Oct. 2. Access the survey.
Bond Planning Committee: FISD is exploring a possible spring 2027 bond, starting with formation of a Bond Planning Committee. Applications are open through Friday, Sept. 25. Apply online.
