Texas Thespians Premier Communities for Theatre Education

The stellar educators and opportunities in Frisco ISD continue to earn notice and acclaim, including Texas Thespians choosing the District as a Premier Community for Theatre Education.

Frisco ISD is one of only 20 districts in Texas to earn this distinction and has received the award all four years of its existence.

To qualify, the District provided details about curriculum, scheduling standards, class sizes, facilities, theater safety, technical equipment, troupe involvement and more.

More than 3,500 secondary students in Frisco ISD take theater classes, in a testament to the District’s student opportunity model that facilitates expanded access to fine arts programming.

Theater education provides many educational and social benefits, including teaching teamwork skills, how to give and receive constructive criticism, problem-solving, trust, cooperation and collaboration. “Frisco ISD’s theater programs thrive because of the passion and commitment of our students and staff, and the support of administrators who champion the arts,” said Cade Butler, fine arts coordinator. “Every student who steps into a theater classroom or works on a production is building confidence and skills that will shape them well beyond our district.”

Congratulations to the theater directors and students of Frisco ISD on this recognition!
