The district tennis season is complete, and two Frisco ISD teams will head into the playoffs as district champions: Centennial and Reedy.

Each of the teams finished district play undefeated, with Centennial finishing 7-0 in District 11-5A and Reedy finishing 6-0 in 6-5A. They’ll be joined in the playoffs by five other FISD teams: Independence, Frisco and Lebanon Trail from 11-5A, Lone Star from 6-5A and Wakeland from 5-6A.

Each played in a tough district, so simply making the playoffs is a huge achievement. The playoff matchups will be finalized soon for the first round of the postseason, which is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 5-6).

Centennial enters the playoffs as the three-time defending state champion in Class 5A. Six of the seven FISD playoff qualifiers are in the latest Texas Tennis Coaches Association state rankings (full TTCA rankings here):
