Swimmers and divers from Frisco ISD’s 12 high schools, along with top competitors from six other high schools, competed last week at the Frisco ISD Sprint Invitational at Bruce Eubanks Natatorium.

Among the impressive performances were three meet records set by Frisco ISD swimmers.

The Reedy mixed (two boys, two girls) 100-yard freestyle relay team set the meet record with a time of 43.72 seconds. Team members were Samuel Trang, Allen Heierman, Alison Li and Morgan Gloier.

Heierman, Gloier and Li were also part of the Reedy mixed 100-yard medley relay team that set a meet record. Joined by HQ Nguyen, the team finished in 47.89.

Wakeland’s Charlie Wang also set a meet record in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 26.22. Wang helped Wakeland finish first in the boys standings with 303.5 points.

Reedy finished second in the boys standings with 296 points, followed by Frisco (223) and Liberty (191). In the girls standings, Wakeland (259.5) was second, followed by Reedy (242.5), Liberty (222) and Centennial (179).

The Sprint Invitational is a preview of the upcoming swimming and diving season in the late fall and winter. FISD swim and dive teams will continue competing in meets around the area to prepare, and a schedule of events can be found here.
