District play begins this week for some Frisco ISD football teams, while others will start in the next two weeks. As the games heat up, and hopefully the temperatures cool down, here is a bit of historical information about each Frisco ISD football program.

2026 Varsity Schedule
Centennial
The Centennial Titans won 12 games in back-to-back seasons in 2011 and 2012 and advanced to the Class 4A Division I Region II final in 2012. Centennial was Frisco ISD’s second high school, opening in 2003.
Emerson
The Emerson Mavericks advanced to the 5A Division I semifinals in 2023, finishing with a 12-3 record in just their second varsity season. Emerson made the playoffs in its first three varsity seasons.
Frisco
The Frisco Raccoons have had eight straight non-losing seasons, including an 11-2 record in 2019 and a 10-2 record in 2021. Frisco’s alumni includes Matt Lepsis (Class of 1992), who won two Super Bowls with the Denver Broncos and was inducted into the FISD Athletics Hall of Honor in 2024.
Heritage
The Heritage Coyotes won 10 games in 2014 and advanced three rounds in the playoffs. Heritage’s alumni includes Kene Nwangwu (Class of 2016), who is a running back and kick returner for the New York Jets and was inducted into the FISD Athletics Hall of Honor in 2025.
Independence
The Independence Knights have won eight or more games in a season three times, including the 2019 season when they finished with a school-record 11 wins. Independence’s alumni includes Elijah Arroyo, a tight end with the Seattle Seahawks.
Lebanon Trail
The LTHS Trail Blazers played their first varsity season in 2018 and won their first game in school history 28-14 over Fort Worth Southwest on Aug. 31, 2018. Lebanon Trail opened as FISD’s ninth high school in August 2016, but started with only freshmen and added a class each year that followed.
Liberty
The Liberty Redhawks won a district football championship in 2010 and shared a district title in 2021. Liberty’s alumni includes running back Jay Ajayi (Class of 2011), who won a Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles and was inducted into the FISD Athletics Hall of Honor in 2025.
Lone Star
The 2025 season was the Lone Star Rangers’ 14th straight with a winning record. Lone Star was the 5A Division I state runner-up last year, the 5A Division II state runner-up in 2015, and its alumni includes linebacker Nick Bolton (Class of 2018) of the Kansas City Chiefs, who was inducted into the FISD Athletics Hall of Honor in 2024.
Memorial
The Memorial Warriors played their first varsity season in 2018 and earned their first win on Sept. 28 of that season with a 45-40 victory over Lebanon Trail. Memorial opened in August of 2018 as FISD’s 10th high school and its first senior class graduated in May 2020.
Panther Creek
The Panther Creek Panthers finished 11-2 in the 2023 season, which was their first with seniors on the roster. PCHS also earned its first two playoff wins in school history that season. Panther Creek is playing its first season in Class 5A.
Reedy
The Reedy Lions entered the 2026 schedule with a 28-9 record over the last three seasons. Reedy, which opened in 2015, has had four teams finish with 10 wins or more: 2024 (10-3), 2023 (10-2), 2018 (13-1) and 2022 (12-1).
Wakeland
The Wakeland Wolverines made their 13th straight trip to the playoffs in 2025 and finished with an 11-2 record. In the 2021 playoffs, Wakeland stunned top-ranked Highland Park in the area round with a touchdown and two-point conversion in the final minute.
