The Lone Star football team has risen to No. 1 in the Dallas Morning News’ rankings, leading a group of four Frisco ISD teams that are in the Class 5A rankings of Dallas-area teams.
Lone Star moved up to the top spot after a 41-26 victory at Royse City, a Class 6A team. The other FISD teams that are ranked are No. 13 Panther Creek (which defeated Heritage 42-14 last week), No. 15 Frisco (a 47-14 winner over Newman Smith), and No. 18 Emerson (a 49-20 winner over Garland).
This week’s football schedule includes six games at Frisco ISD venues, and with the hot temperatures continuing, the games at the outdoor venues (Kuykendall Stadium and Toyota Stadium) will again start at 7:30 p.m. The games at Ford Center will start at 7 p.m.
