Frisco ISD has once again been recognized for its outstanding theater education by the Texas Educational Theatre Association.
FISD received an Award of Distinction, recognizing the district’s commitment to theater education through achievement, curation of resources and advocacy for theater arts. Frisco ISD offers theater arts courses in grades six through 12..
The Texas Educational Theatre Association’s Awards of Distinction are broken into four tiers, and FISD was recognized in the highest tier, Exemplary.
The group praised Frisco ISD for its commitment to educational growth and excellence and its supportive learning environment. The association considered several factors in its assessment, including performance and leadership opportunities, professional development, curriculum and venues.
“This honor belongs to everyone whose continued support makes this work possible,” said Pete Hazzard, managing director of fine arts. “The District’s investment in fine arts education is directly reflected in the opportunities our students experience every day, and in recognitions like this at the state level.”
The District has earned a number of accolades for its theater education, including being named a Texas Thespians Premier Community for Theatre Education in January.
Congratulations to Frisco ISD’s exceptional theater arts teachers and staff!
