Donation Supports Ride-On Cars for Students with Limited Mobility
A big thank you to the Texas Lottery for their continued support of STEM education and adaptive programming in Frisco ISD. The Texas Lottery gifted $15,000 to the Frisco Education Foundation to support the District’s GO BABY GO program. This is
in addition to another $30,000 donation earlier this year. GO BABY GO provides
electric ride-on cars that have been modified by high school engineering students to early childhood students with limited mobility.
Radio Station Honors Boals Teacher
Boals Elementary fourth grade teacher Jennifer Singleton was recognized in November as the 94.9 KLTY Teacher of the Month. She was nominated by
fellow Boals teacher Kimberly Rendulic who described Singleton’s work ethic and praised her ability to connect with students. “Jenny is more than just my partner teacher; she is my mentor, role model and friend!” Rendulic wrote.
“I aspire to have the same daily attitude and drive that she has.” Congratulations to Singleton, who won several prizes and was featured on the radio!
Frisco Bowl Supports Griffin and Bright Teachers
Congratulations to teachers David McLeod of Griffin Middle School and Michelle Nickell of Bright Academy who won grants from the Frisco Bowl as part of the College Football Playoff’s
Extra Yard for Teachers program. Both teachers had projects funded from the Donors Choose website. McLeod was able to purchase virtual reality equipment to help bring his eighth grade science lessons to life. Check out the video to see what his students think.
Fort Worth Opera Performs for FISD Students
Recently, third graders across Frisco ISD were able to experience the Fort Worth Opera’s performance of Hansel and Gretel at Reedy High School. The performers shared the history of the opera and connected it to modern musicals and cartoons, like
Frozen. Students dressed up for the occasion and were eager to learn about costumes, rehearsals and how to be good audience members. After the performance, students were able to ask questions of the singers to learn more about music and the arts as
District Partner Donates 288 Coats
Frisco ISD and the FISD Council of PTAs are thankful for a generous donation of 288 coats from a local Knights of Columbus chapter! The coats will go directly to FISD students in need. In the first semester, more than 500 FISD students have been able
