Nearly three dozen Frisco ISD cross country runners competed at the UIL State Championships last week in Round Rock, and the Reedy High School boys team finished on the podium.
The Reedy boys were third in the 5A team rankings, led by Garrick Spieler, who was ninth in the race at Old Settler's Park that featured the top runners from across the state. Also competing for the Reedy boys team were Triston Harden, Evan Murray, Matt Starr, Daniel Escribano, Alex Roeren and Parker Cathey.
The Wakeland boys finished sixth in the team standings, and Lebanon Trail's Neeraj Kulkarni was the other FISD boys runner to finish among the top 20 individuals, placing 17th.
Liberty's Sydni Wilkins finished eighth in the 5A girls race and the Wakeland girls team placed 15th. Panther Creek's Seth Rugg qualified for state in the school's first year and finished 74th in the 4A boys race.
