Lone Star Teacher Honored by Dude. Be Nice and HEB 

Lone Star High School teacher Matt Cobb was surprised this past spring with a special recognition secretly orchestrated by students, colleagues and representatives from Dude. Be Nice. Check out the inspiring video.

Dude. Be Nice works to share positivity online. Cobb was highlighted for his profound positive impact on Lone Star students and families. HEB partnered with Dude. Be Nice to present Cobb and Lone Star with a check for $2,500. The grocery store also gave Cobb a $2,500 gift card for groceries.

Cobb Students “Think Kindness”

Cobb Middle School students have been encouraged to participate in daily acts of kindness as part of their “Think Kindness” initiative. As a culmination of the initiative, students participated in a used sneaker collection that will soon be donated to orphanages on the African continent. Together, the students collected more than 870 pairs of shoes, with sixth graders collecting the most! Keep up the great work, Cobb Middle School!

Students Presented with Team Behind the Team Scholarships

Congratulations to seniors across Frisco ISD who are recipients of the Frisco Bowl Team Behind the Team Scholarship Award presented by Town and Country Roofing. This award honors high school students that show exemplary efforts to support their football team and show school spirit. Josh Halper of Lebanon Trail High School, Andrew Jauregui of Liberty High School, Jade Hernandez of Centennial High School, Kennedy Browning of Lone Star High School, Winston Jefferson of Wakeland High School and Aaron Daniels of Reedy High School were each awarded a $750 scholarship at recent football games

Secondary Teachers Awarded “Teachers on the Rise”

The United Family and Mrs Baird’s Bread announced recent winners of the second annual Teachers On The Rise program. Congratulations to our winners Gloria Pienaar of Trent Middle School and Aaron Cappotelli of Panther Creek High School who clearly go above and beyond the call of duty and are more than deserving of special recognition.

Community Outreach Liaison Joins Leadership Frisco

Congratulations to FISD’s Community Outreach Liaison Sharon White who has been selected as a member of Leadership Frisco Class XXVI. White works day in and out to build bridges between the community and District. As part of Leadership Frisco, a full day each month is dedicated to exploring the inner workings of Frisco’s government, educational system, economic development, service organizations, regional issues, leisure and culture, health services and public safety. White will have the opportunity to learn about and practice skills critical to working with volunteers and groups in the community. Thank you for representing Frisco ISD!

Frisco ISD Students are World Science Scholars

Congratulations to Centennial High School junior Ria Garg and Reedy High School junior Shobhit Agarwal who have been named World Science Scholars! Garg and Agarwal are two of  55 young Scholars from 13 countries. Agarwal and Garg will begin a year-long journey of learning and discovery with WSS faculty, including Nobel and Breakthrough Prize winners, best-selling authors, and experts working at the cutting edge of their fields.
