This past spring, the Frisco ISD School Board was named one of only five school boards recognized through H-E-B’s Excellence in Education Awards program. As finalists, the Board was awarded $5,000 in recognition of their dedication and commitment
to public education.
This morning, the School Board voted to donate the award money to the Uvalde CISD Moving Forward Foundation on behalf of the former Board which also included Natalie Hebert and
Chad Rudy. The foundation is raising funds to build a new elementary school after the devastating tragedy that resulted in the deaths of 19 children and two teachers this past spring.
“As a Board, we stand alongside the community of Uvalde CISD as they recover from this unimaginable tragedy,” said Board President Rene Archambault. “All Texas public school students are our students and we want to do anything that we
can to support their community.
“We hope this small gift helps continue to lift up this community as they move forward and build a new campus to serve students, teachers and families.”
Frisco ISD is thankful for the FISD School Board which consists of elected community volunteers who are steadfast in their efforts to maintain and grow the academic achievement of FISD students and the number of opportunities available to them.
