McCain’s campus leadership in promoting good nutrition, healthy lifestyles and Texas agriculture. Starting in the new school year, McCain will work with the District to support the HART initiative. Congratulations!

Kroger Teaches Prescription Drug Safety at LTHS
Thank you to representatives from Kroger Health and EVERFI who visited Lebanon Trail High School last month to reinforce important lessons about prescription drug safety. Health students completed a digital course on substance use disorder, medication
safety tips and how to intervene when faced with a situation involving drug misuse. During the visit, Kroger pharmacists shared different methods of safe prescription drug disposal. One student was awarded a Kroger gift card and 529 College Savings
gift card for their poster promoting safe use of prescription drugs!
Liberty Baseball Player Honored
Liberty senior shortstop and pitcher Cade McGarrh, who was named the District 9-5A Most Valuable Player, has also been selected for the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association’s prestigious All-Star game. McGarrh, who has signed with Texas
Tech, will play in the All-Star game later this month.

American Legion Honors NNDCC Student
The Lebanon Trail High School Navy National Defense Cadet Corps held its first end-of-year award ceremony and invited several members of American Legion Post 178. Representatives of the organization presented an award to Wakeland student Grace Yang, an
outstanding cadet. Yang was awarded the American Legion Peter J Courcy Post 178 Scholastic Excellence Award and will attend the United States Military Academy in the fall. Learn more about the NNDCC program.
Independence Visual Artist Places Second in Contest
Congratulations to Independence incoming junior Deeksha Bompada on winning second place in the Expressions by Walgreens national art challenge. Bompada was recognized for Cyclic in the Visual Arts category.
