Knights Robotics Team Qualified for World Championships

Congrats to the Independence High School Knights Robotics VRC Team 1747A which qualified and competed in the prestigious 2022 VEX Robotics World Championship - VEX Robotics Competition High School Event. This was the 3rd year in a row that the Knights Robotics Team has placed in the VEX Robotics World Championship where they competed against more than 800 teams from around the world.

The team consists of Sujay Rasamsetti, Saketh Kotamraju, Lavi Saini, Akhil Srirangam and Aarav Bajaj. Congratulations to these students who worked hard while balancing their schoolwork and passion for robotics!

Staley AVID Students Pair with Rogers Students

AVID students from Staley Middle School spent an afternoon building relationships with incoming sixth graders from Rogers Elementary. The students spent time working together to build a LEGO. While the students were building, they communicated about what middle school is like, answered any questions they had and explained how AVID has helped them be successful in school. Each student was also given a LEGO to give away to a friend or family member. The students were given encouraging words to finish the school year strong and to keep on building

Tadlock Celebrated Bright Futures Month Throughout April

Tadlock - Volunteers from CoServ present about the job of a linemanTadlock Elementary celebrated Bright Futures Month during the month of April! Students focused on the FISD future-ready skills and learned about various careers and how current employees use future-ready skills within their field. Highlights of the month included parent presentations about their careers, videos from a few community members about their jobs and the future-ready skills they use, and a CoServ presentation. Fifth grade students also researched different careers and presented their careers and skills/training needed to all students in the school!

Stafford Student Partners with Non-Profit

Stafford Middle School eighth grader, aspiring fashion designer and leukemia survivor Valentina Nejfelt collaborated with Salood and Lele Sadoughi to launch special fashion pieces that are being sold with proceeds benefiting Salood. Salood pairs businesses with pediatric cancer warriors to create customized products that are sold to benefit pediatric cancer families in need of financial aid. Learn more.
