District Holds Inaugural FISD Broadcast Competition

Apr 07, 2022

It’s been a busy year for student journalists across Frisco ISD high schools as they share stories about what is important to them and their campus communities. Every year, student journalists are recognized for their work statewide and internationally, but, this year, teachers wanted to provide students the opportunity to earn local accolades in a friendly Districtwide competition.

Recently, students participated in the inaugural Frisco ISD Broadcast Competition. They had the opportunity to compete in various media categories ranging from anchor delivery to producing news stories all under a quick deadline.

During their experience, students had the opportunity to meet and network with other broadcasters from across the District. Student submissions were judged by industry professionals from media organizations such as WFAA, The Dallas Morning News as well as college professors.

A special thanks goes to the Dallas Cowboys who funded the competition through the Frisco Education Foundation.

Congratulations to the students who competed and won awards in the inaugural Frisco ISD Broadcast Competition!
