Welding Students Earn First Place Recognition

Congratulations to Wakeland junior Bryce London and Reedy senior Kyle Kirby on winning first place for their trailer at the Houston Ag Mechanics Show. London and Kirby built the trailer during their welding class at the Career and Technical Education Center over several months under the direction of their teacher Kris Schertz. Students Place at Dallas Regional Spelling Bee

Congratulations to the two Frisco ISD students who both placed at the Dallas Regional Spelling Bee last month! Roach Middle School’s Samarth Khurana placed third and Rogers Elementary’s Alexander Agera placed eighth in the highly competitive event. While they did not advance to the National Bee, their achievements are to be commended! Learn more about the competition.

Liberty Teacher Nominated to Serve on STAT Board

Congratulations to Liberty High School science teacher Kenric Davies who has been nominated to serve on the 2022-23 executive board as president-elect of the Science Teachers Association of Texas!

Emerson Winterguard Wins Awards in Inaugural Year

The Emerson High School Winterguard competed in their first Winter Guard International Regional in March where they competed against guards from all over Texas and surrounding states. After two great performances in prelims and finals, they earned first place in the Scholastic Regional A Class! 

Recently they also competed in an event hosted by the North Texas Color Guard Association where they competed in Regional A class and took home a second place silver medal. 

It has been an exciting year for the Emerson Guard which consists of only 9th and 10th graders. Congrats to all of these students on an incredible year!

Sophomore Named a 2022 Texas Young Masters

Congratulations to Independence High School sophomore Danielle Yoon for being recognized by the Texas Cultural Trust and the Texas Commission on the Arts. Yoon has been selected to be part of the 2022 class of Texas Young Masters program, which gives grants to exemplary student artists. Yoon will receive a grant of $10,000 that will support her artistic endeavors related to cello and viola.

14 FISD delegates to Boys State for 2022Frisco ISD Students Selected to Attend 2022 Texas Boys State Program

Congratulations to the 14 high school juniors who were selected by American Legion Post 178 to attend the 2022 American Legion Texas Boys State program later this summer at the University of Texas at Austin. High school principals, counselors and teachers nominated high school junior students from each of their respective schools. The students were interviewed and selected by an eight-member committee from Post 178. Boys State is among the most respected and selective educational programs of government instructions for high school students. Since June 2014, Post 178 has sponsored 155 Texas Boys State delegates.
