Dedicated staff can be found across the District whether in the front office, cafeteria, classroom, library or nurses office. Frisco ISD employees give their time and energy to make sure each campus is a place where students can learn and thrive.
Each month through the Standing Ovation Award, the District honors two special campus staff members who are shining examples of the incredible staff who are the backbones of each campus.
Fowler Middle School’s Jose Pineda and Anderson Elementary’s Amy Wilson were recognized during this month’s Board meeting as Frisco ISD’s September Standing Ovation Award Winners.
The Standing Ovation Award winners are nominated by their peers and are distinguished examples of the District’s non-teaching staff. Through their positive attitude and servant leadership, they are shining examples of employees who take initiative and consistently carry out responsibilities beyond their job requirements.
Jose Pineda - Lead Custodian at Fowler Middle School
Pineda takes great pride in Fowler Middle School each day as he helps the campus maintain a clear level of excellence through his leadership and guidance. Pineda makes sure that each space is learner-ready before students and staff arrive and is always willing to help, no matter the circumstance. Pineda is willing to collaborate on disinfecting procedures in the classrooms so that teachers feel safe and the building stays healthy. When there are events outside of the school day, Pineda will confirm needs for the event and bend over backwards to make sure the setup is done and the building is put back together after the event. Fowler is thankful for his devotion to the students and staff.
Amy Wilson - Nurse at Anderson Elementary School
Nurse Wilson gives of herself to Anderson Elementary students and teachers every day in many capacities. When not treating students and staff in the clinic, she can often be found organizing or filing guided reading books for teachers, cutting out lamination for math stations, helping parents with registration and even doing read-alouds for students in their classrooms to promote health and wellness. She is welcoming and friendly, creating a calm environment in the clinic where students feel safe and comforted. Anderson Elementary students and staff are thankful for Nurse Wilson.
