Heritage High School Dual Credit Student Earns Associates Degree

Class of 2021 graduate Adalyn Thomas graduated from Collin College with her Associates in Liberal Arts along with her diploma from Heritage High School thanks to the FISD dual credit program. Thomas graduated on the Presidents List from Collin Collin College and received an honors cord for her hard work. She graduated high school with 60 college credits that she is transferring to Texas Tech this fall with a plan to double major in Architecture and Business Administration. Congrats to Thomas on this fabulous achievement!

Student Wins Apple Swift Challenge Scholarship

Frisco High School sophomore Mason Dierkes was selected as the only winner from Texas in Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference Swift Student Challenge. Dierkes, a WWDCScholar, demonstrated his coding skills by submitting an original Swift Playground. Swift Playgrounds is an app that makes learning Swift, a programming language created by Apple and used by the pros to build today’s most popular apps, interactive and fun.Through the app, he took on a series of challenges to step up his skills to create advanced playgrounds.

He also created an app that educates people on the dangers of skin cancer including a simulation that shows how skin cancers develop over time. Dierkes poured his heart and soul into this competition and is honored and humbled to be selected as one of the winners. Keep up the great work, Mason!

Abby Cole of Lone Star High SchoolLone Star Assistant Principal Honored By Alum

Lone Star High School assistant principal Abby Cole was honored by FC Dallas homegrown player Eddie Munjoma during fan appreciation week. Cole was his high school counselor and was recognized for the positive impact she had on Munjoma. In celebration, FC Dallas delivered pizzas from Papa Johns to the Lone Star staff working hard this summer preparing for the new school year. Congrats, Mrs. Cole!
