Heritage Students Win First Place in School Communications Contest

Congratulations to Heritage High School students Alysen Rose and Sumit Nalavade who placed first nationally in the National Federation of Press High School Communications Contest. Nalavade won the Best of the Best Award for his Classroom Safety Video News Story and is featured on the NFPW website. Rose won first place for her Softball Seniors Video Sports Story.

Independence Robotics Team Competes at Worlds

IHS Knight Robotics TeamRecently, the Independence High School Knights Robotics Team participated in the “2021 Live Remote VEX Robotics World Championship – VEX Robotics Competition High School Division” and placed 27th in World. Earlier, they placed sixth in Skills Rankings in Texas. This is the second year in a row that the Knights Robotics Team placed into the VEX Robotics World Championship.

The team consists of Sree Akkina, Saketh Kotamraju, Anish KotamreddySatvik Movva, Arjun Nair, Rohan Nagineni, Raghav Punnam, Sujay Rasamsetti and Pranav Singaraju. Congratulations to these students who worked hard balancing their school work and robotics!

Fowler Middle School Student is NASA Scientist For a Day

Fowler Middle School Student Ramesh PattarCongratulations to Fowler Middle School seventh grader Ramesh Pattar who was chosen to be NASA's scientist for a day. To be awarded this honor, he had to write an essay about Uranus's moons and he was chosen the winner in the 7-8 grade bracket in the entire country. He was invited to zoom with NASA scientists and ask them any questions that he had. What an incredible opportunity!

Twelve Frisco ISD Students Earn Gold Award

Congratulations to the twelve Frisco ISD students who earned the Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest honor in the program. The prestigious Gold Award, which recognizes high school students who demonstrate extraordinary leadership in developing sustainable solutions to local, national and global challenges. Each student addressed an issue they are passionate about in a way that produces meaningful and lasting change.

Congratulations to these leaders representing Centennial, Heritage, Independence, Lebanon Trail and Liberty high schools.
