Theatre programs and students from Independence, Lebanon Trail and Wakeland high schools have been nominated for awards by the Dallas Summer Musicals High School Awards program.
Each year, schools from across Texas compete in a high school musical theatre awards program that recognizes individual talent as well as overall production quality and technical design.
Throughout the year, three adjudicators visited each school and judged the performers in 15 categories. DSM adjudicators are qualified arts professionals who evaluate how well a school does based on that school’s unique resources and challenges. The award criterion emphasizes achievement and celebration of student work, not budget or size of production.
Throughout the years, Frisco ISD has had many nominations, and this year was no exception! Modeled after the Tony Awards, the nominations will culminate in an awards show later in June with performances starring several Frisco ISD students.
