Frisco High School Stars Dance Team Shines at Competition
Congratulations to the Frisco High School Stars Dance Team for competing in the virtual Crowd Pleasers competition. The team, directed by Kendra Kullman, won Super Sweepstakes and won first place for their amazing hip hop routine choreographed by a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader. The dance officers won first place in the hip hop division and second runner-up for their lyrical dance. They won 6th place overall. The social officers won first place for their jazz routine. In addition, senior Nicole Mulkern won 2nd runner-up for her solo in the senior division. The District is incredibly proud of the Frisco Stars for their determination and hard work in competing this season!
Students Earn Medals at State Powerlifting Meet
Congratulations to Heritage High School’s Zoe Young, who claimed a state championship last week at the Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting Association State Meet in Corpus Christi. Young won the 5A big-school title in her weight class with a tremendous combined squat, benchpress and deadlift total of 985 pounds. A total of seven FISD athletes finished in the top five of their respective weight classes.
Student Recognized at Frisco City Council Meeting
Harbani Kohli, a junior at Reedy High School, was presented a Certificate of Recognition by City of Frisco Mayor Jeff Cheney at the March 16 City Council Meeting for her outstanding performance for winning the American Legion Post 178 Oratorical Scholarship Speech Contest and the 4th District contest earlier this year.
At the contests, she delivered a prepared oration and a randomly assigned constitutional topic oration. Kohli impressed the judges with her prepared topic oration, titled “We Are the People, and assigned topic oration, Article III, Section 1 concerning the Supreme Court.
Student Earns Scholarship for Excellence in Spanish Language
Congratulations to Frisco High School sophomore Tanvi Sud who is the recipient of the 2021 National Spanish Exam Global Citizen Scholarship for Underclassmen by The American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. She was recognized for her academic excellence in the study of the Spanish language. The World Languages Department at Frisco High School celebrates Tanvi Sud for her language achievement.
