Middle School Student Wins Music Teachers National Association Competition
Congratulations to Pioneer Heritage Middle School seventh grader and flautist Reina Shim who has won the Music Teachers National Association National 2020–21 Junior Woodwind Competition! Student Selected As Delegate to the Congress of Future Medical Leaders
Lebanon Trail High School sophomore Balatripura Somanchi has been selected as a Delegate to the Congress of Future Medical Leaders. Through her role, she will be provided a path, plan and resources to help her reach her goal of becoming a physician or going into the medical research field. Balatripura's nomination was signed by Dr. Mario Capecchi, winner of the Nobel Prize in Medicine and the Science Director of the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists, to represent Texas based on her academic achievement, leadership potential and determination to serve humanity in the field of medicine. Congratulations!
Piano and Violin Students Headed to Carnegie Hall
Pianist Mana Asaka, a fifth grader at Sparks Elementary, was chosen as a second place winner for the junior age category in the 2021 American Protege International Piano and Strings Competition. Reedy High School freshman and violinist Ananya Nair earned third place in the same competition. As second and third place winners, Mana and Nair have won an opportunity to play at Carnegie Hall!
FHS Spanish National Honor Society Donates Items to Victoria Gardens
The Frisco High School’s online and face-to-face Spanish National Honor Society students collaborated to serve and support senior citizens in the community through a self-care items donation drive. SNHS students officers and sponsors met at Victoria Gardens of Frisco to deliver the bags during Spring Break.
Valerie Poloche, Activities Director of Victoria Gardens of Frisco, received the bags in front of the Senior Center and thanked the students and FHS for their service to the community. Spanish National Honor Society "Del Prado" Chapter is a student-led organization at FHS dedicated to fostering relationships, promoting service and embracing diversity through the use of the Hispanic Culture and the Spanish Language.
