FISD Employees Earn a Standing Ovation

Jan 2021 Combine Standing Ovation WinnersCongratulations to Cobb Middle School special education aide Allison Gibson and Scoggins Middle School diagnostician Peggy Knippel who were named as the January winners of the monthly Standing Ovation Award.

Allison and Peggy were recognized during Monday’s Board meeting after being nominated by their peers and are remarkable examples of the District’s non-teaching staff. They are both known for going above and beyond their job duties to help the students and staff around them.

As winners, they exemplify how every staff member in the District does their part to make a difference in children’s lives. The District is #StrongerTogether thanks to the heartfelt dedication of Allison and Peggy!

Allison Gibson - Cobb Middle School

As a special education paraprofessional at Cobb Middle School, Allison is fiercely dedicated to knowing each of our special education students by their name and need. Through her kindness and dedication to her students, Allison meets students’ academic and social-emotional needs by being reflective and compassionate with each student she works with. She builds relationships with the students and staff, comforting everyone she encounters with her attention and compassion. 

She collaborates with the special education team on students' needs, and she celebrates with the team on student successes. She is a valued member of the special education team who is loved and adored by all at Cobb!  

Peggy Knippel – Scoggins Middle School

Peggy is the diagnostician at Scoggins Middle School where she is a guiding light for staff and administration. With her notable interpersonal skills guiding students and their families, she creates an environment for reflection, creativity, problem-solving and critical thinking.

She is known for coming up with creative and effective student-focused solutions for various challenges. Her door is always open and she regularly drops everything to help students and staff with whatever issues they may have, large or small. Finally, and most importantly, she knows every single student by name and need at Scoggins.
