Frisco Fastpacs Volunteers Distribute Meals at Lawler Middle SchoolWith help from the Frisco Station Partnership’s $15,000 matching initiative, Frisco Fastpacs’ Summer Meal Challenge sponsored by Frisco Station has raised $38,817 in total funds to provide free meals for the children of Frisco ISD. The Frisco Station Partnership, composed of Hillwood, The Rudman Partnership and VanTrust Real Estate, partnered with Frisco Fastpacs and Frisco ISD (FISD) for the month of June to provide three meals a day, seven days a week, to students across all 72 FISD schools.

“It’s been a wonderful experience to watch the Frisco community come together for such a worthy cause during this challenging time,” said Trey Sibley, general manager of The Rudman Partnership. “We knew that Frisco Fastpacs was a special organization, and we are extremely proud to see how other community partners have stepped up as well. The entire community has made such a big difference in the lives of our most vulnerable population.”

Frisco Fastpacs’ Summer Meal Challenge received almost $9,000 from individual contributors, alongside significant grants from community members including, Alto Foundation, VanTrust Real Estate, Ann Anderson Farmers Insurance Agency and GoGo Squeez.

“When we were asked to take on FISD summer school weekend meals, our board, staff and volunteers didn’t blink,” said Heather Canterbury, executive director of Frisco Fastpacs. “If kids needed to be fed, we were going to figure it out. Thanks to our incredible community, in under three and a half weeks, Frisco Fastpacs was able to distribute close to 19,000 meals to FISD students in need. That is 890 students we all helped keep full and happy during summer classes. We cannot express in words our appreciation and love for the Frisco community.”

Founded in 2013, Frisco Fastpacs regularly provides weekend meal packs during the school year to over 1,000 students enrolled in FISD. Each pack includes seven non-perishable, easily-prepared meals for children to eat over the weekend. During the Frisco Fastpacs’ Summer Meal Challenge, students received similar meal packs with enough food for an entire week.
