Desmos Submission from Fowler MS Student Isha Sainath JannuFowler Student is a Finalist in Desmos Global Art Contest

Congratulations to Fowler Middle School rising freshman Isha Sainath Jannu who was named as a finalist for her middle school Algebra II submission in the Desmos Global Art Contest. Her artwork titled “Eye” is an admirable blend of art and math. Jannu used a series of functions to create her piece and is one of 30 finalists whose artwork can be found here. Best of luck to Jannu who has already proven her talent from amongst the original 4,000 submissions from over 100 countries and territories!

Phillips Student Competes in Global Amazing Shake

Congratulations to Phillips Elementary fifth grader Aubree Lewis, who was among the top finishers recently in the Global Online Amazing Shake, a competition that helps students learn skills necessary for professional careers. Competing with nearly 300 other students, Lewis finished as first runner-up among the X-Factors, the group just outside the top 20 that advanced to the finals. The event was a virtual version of the Amazing Shake that Hosp Elementary fifth graders participated in earlier this year. You can see a clip of Lewis competing in the Amazing Shake here.

LTHS Student Rahul Nandyala Lebanon Trail Student Recognized for Community Service

Lebanon Trail High School incoming 11th grade student Rahul Nandyala has been recognized by the Education in Action’s 2019-2020 Lone Star Leadership Academy Alumni Council. For his community service project, Souper Caner, Rahul collected canned goods and donated them to benefit the children at City House Plano, a homeless shelter for children. The contest serves as a fun way for elementary students to learn about protecting the environment and come up with creative ways to share this knowledge with others.
