Kathleen Hopkins Artwork.

Congratulations to Lebanon Trail High School Junior Kathleen Hopkins whose artwork was selected by Governor Greg Abbott’s wife Cecilia for this year’s Governor’s Gallery. Hopkin’s artwork will be framed and hung in the Governor’s Business Offices for the next year in honor of the Texas Art Education Association’s Youth Art Month.

Fourteen students were chosen for this honor and Hopkins’ teacher couldn’t be more proud of her accomplishment.

“I have had the pleasure of teaching and getting to know Kathleen this school year and seeing her creativity and imagination come to life has been the most rewarding part of my year,” said Kristen Summers, her art teacher. “Her realism skills are out of the park.

“This is the first time in my 22-year career as an art teacher that I’ve had a student’s work selected for the Governor’s Gallery and I couldn’t be more proud of her!”
