Jan 27, 2020

Carroll Teacher Emily Jones.Congratulations to Carroll Elementary School third grade teacher Emily Jones, who has been recognized as a First Class teacher by 99.5 The Wolf and the First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO).

Jones was surprised by radio personality Lisa Taylor, Bill Harris of DFW Cumulus Radio Stations and representatives from FNBO in the school library with gift cards and the official recognition.

Jones was nominated for this award and recognized for her drive in achieving her goal to become a teacher.

Carroll Principal John Waldrip is proud of Jones and how she represents the campus.

“As a first-year teacher, she has been incredible and jumped right into the spirit and culture of the campus,” he said. “She isn’t afraid to ask questions or try new things. She is a collaborative and intentional teacher who creates great learning opportunities for kids while making sure all of them have the opportunity to learn to the best of their abilities.”

“She’s always there for us when we need help,” said Emery Crowl, a third grader in Jones’ class.

Jones feels happy that she is “finally” doing what she loves and adores the Carroll community.

“Witnessing my students progress and grow each day is my favorite part about teaching,” Jones said. “Ultimately, I just want them to love school and always be eager to learn.”

Congratulations to Emily Jones on this well-deserved recognition!
