Nov 04, 2019

First Class Teacher, Kellie Williams.Congratulations to Kellie Williams, Pioneer Heritage Middle School teacher, who was recognized as a First Class teacher by 99.5 The Wolf and the First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO).

Williams was surprised by radio personality Lisa Taylor, Ginger Harrick of FNBO and Bill Harris with DFW Cumulus Radio Stations when they walked into her classroom while Williams was administering an assessment to her students on Halloween.

Williams is an eighth grade U.S. History teacher and coach who is loved by students past and present.

Principal Rocky Agan expressed that Williams makes history relevant to her students while providing a nurturing environment.

Eighth-grader Arianna Smith, who witnessed the surprise, agrees.

“Ms. Williams is like a mom to us because she is always there when we need her,” said Smith. “She deserves this award.”

Williams was nominated by her sister, Crystal Davis, who explained that she always puts her students first while making learning fun.

"I am truly honored to be chosen as a First Class teacher,” Williams said. “My purpose as an educator is to make each and every one of my students feel loved, valued and honored."

Williams received a $250 Visa Gift Card and $100 worth of restaurant certificates.

Lisa Taylor, the radio personality, made Williams promise to spend the money on herself.

“There’s nothing more important than supporting teachers, especially when so many dig into their pockets for school supplies,” Taylor said.
