All 10 Frisco ISD high school marching bands competed in the Region 24 UIL Marching Band Contest this past Saturday, Oct. 19 in Little Elm. All 10 groups received a 1st division rating and have advanced to the area contest.
"Great band programs do not just 'happen.' They are the result of intentional decisions made that emphasize growth through a process and not a singular focus on a final product," said Pete Hazzard, managing director of fine arts. "The staff and students of our high school band programs understand this and work together to help support robust and relevant musical experiences at all of our campuses. This incredible accomplishment is a testament to their focus on doing the right things, the right way, for the right reasons."
The area contest will be this Saturday, Oct. 26 back at Lobo Stadium in Little Elm. The top scoring bands from this contest will advance to the state marching contest Nov. 4-5 in San Antonio.
Good luck to all Frisco ISD marching band programs!
