Frisco ISD Students and Staff Honored at Texas FFA Convention

Frisco ISD FFA Chapters and students won numerous esteemed awards at the 91st annual Texas FFA Convention held in Fort Worth. 

Students attended the state’s largest agricultural youth leadership convention in July, where they spent the week attending leadership workshops, participating in events and activities, being recognized for their achievements and serving as the legislative body for the Texas FFA Association. 

Congratulations to these chapters and students who were recognized in a number of capacities at the 91st annual Texas FFA Convention.

Golden Horizon Award

The Golden Horizon award is the highest state rating to be bestowed upon a Texas FFA chapter. 

The Golden Horizon award selection is based on exceptional chapter involvement and activities within the school and community. The award recognizes well-rounded chapter involvement that promotes maximum participation in order to deliver all facets of the agricultural education program.

Golden Horizon Division 1 - Bronze Chapter

  • Independence FFA

  • Wakeland FFA

National Chapter Award - Superior Rated Chapter

Congratulations to the Wakeland FFA who received the Superior Chapter rating. Wakeland received this award for consistently implementing the FFA mission and strategies while emphasizing student, chapter and community development. 

Lone Star Degree Awards

The Lone Star FFA Degree recognizes FFA members who have received the Chapter degree, been active FFA members for at least two years, completed at least four semesters of agricultural science, maintained a supervised agricultural experience program, demonstrated their leadership skills and have shown a commitment to the FFA through involvement at the chapter level and above.

Congratulations to these students who received the highest degree bestowed by the Texas FFA:

  • Brandon Loredo, Centennial FFA

  • Brian Loredo, Centennial FFA

  • Amanda McDonald, Independence FFA

  • Sadie Myers, Independence FFA

  • Claire Webb, Liberty FFA

The Wakeland FFA also served the State Convention by participating in the Day of Service park cleanup in Fort Worth. In addition, the Centennial FFA and Wakeland FFA collaborated in collecting art supplies for patients at Cook Children’s Hospital. 

Congratulations to the Frisco Memorial FFA Chapter who also received its Official Charter at the FFA Convention.

The Texas FFA is the nation’s largest state FFA association with a membership of more than 130,000. FFA gives students the opportunity to apply practical classroom knowledge to real-world experiences through local, state and national competitions.
