Nine teams from Frisco ISD’s FFA chapters advanced to area level after completion in the District IV FFA Leadership Development Event (LDE) held Tuesday, Nov. 6 in Anna, Texas.
The LDE competitions focus on creating situations for members to demonstrate their abilities in public speaking, decision making, communication and knowledge of agriculture and the FFA organization. Team and individual events are used to reinforce what is taught in agricultural science classrooms.
All LDE events have elimination rounds at the district and area before the state-level competition.
Olivia Dodson, Wakeland FFA sponsor, reports that the chapters from Centennial, Heritage, Lebanon Trail, Liberty and Wakeland high schools all have teams going on to area competition.
Wakeland placed first in Agricultural Issues. Centennial placed second in Greenhand chapter conducting. Lebanon Trail took first and Centennial teams earned second in the greenhand quiz contest. Liberty earned a first in public relations. Centennial also advanced with a second place in senior chapter conducting. Heritage and Liberty won first and second place in senior creed speaking, and a Heritage team also earned second place in the senior quiz contest.
