Current eighth graders interested in participating in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme at Frisco High School should submit an admissions form this month.
The form will be available starting Friday, Nov. 9 and will close at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30.
To begin, students and parents should look for the admissions form button on the District website. Two steps are required to complete the process. First, enter information about your student. This will trigger an email to the parent or guardian with the required admissions form.
The IB Diploma Programme consists of multiple academically challenging courses designed to broaden students’ educational experience and challenge them to apply their knowledge and skills. College credit earned through IB is widely accepted at universities and colleges around the globe.
Admitted students will be full-time students at Frisco High School for the duration of their high school career and will be eligible to participate in all academic, athletic and fine arts activities. Transportation must be provided to FHS.
If there is more interest in the programme than seats available, a lottery process will determine who gains admission to the programme. The lottery process will be designed to ensure a geographic representation of students from throughout the District.
Parents and students will be notified of their admissions status via email on Dec. 7. Once notified, parents will have 72 hours to accept or deny the offer to enroll in the FHS IB Diploma Programme.
If your student is not initially admitted into the FHS IB Diploma Programme, spots may open up as they become available up until Dec. 19. The lottery process will continue until all available seats are filled.
