Kristen Sommers, assistant principal at Lebanon Trail High School, has been selected to represent the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals as the Region 10 Outstanding Assistant Principal of the Year.
TASSP recognizes outstanding principals and assistant principals from the twenty region Education Service Centers in the state. School administrators are nominated and chosen by their peers within their regions. Nominations are based upon exemplary performance and outstanding leadership. As a Region 10 winner, Sommers is eligible to compete for the state title of Texas Assistant Principal of the Year.
Sommers is in her fifth year as an assistant principal. She began at Liberty High School and then moved to help open Lebanon Trail High School in 2016. This is her 11th year in Frisco ISD. She attended Texas A&M University for her bachelor’s degree, earned her master’s degree in education administration from Lamar University, and is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in educational leadership at the University of North Texas.
