Krista Boivie, a teacher at Frisco ISD’s Reedy High School, is one of 11 educators from across Texas honored in 2018 with the Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities Award.
Each year, Humanities Texas presents awards recognizing and encouraging excellence in teaching the humanities in Texas schools. The nonprofit, educational organization is the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH).
The Outstanding Teaching of the Humanities Awards recognize exemplary K–12 teachers in the following subjects: English and language arts, foreign languages, history and social studies.
As a winner, Boivie will receive a $5,000 cash award and an additional $500 to purchase humanities-based instructional materials for use at Reedy.
Boivie co-taught Gifted and Talented (GT) Humanities during the 2017-18 school year.
