Kathryn Gage and Tyler Farley, both of Lone Star High School, were the February 2018 Rotary Spotlight Students of the Month honored by Frisco Rotary Club.
Gage is the daughter of Dennis and Kim Gage. An active and engaged student, she is a member of National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Junior Frisco Women’s League, vice president of Lone Star’s Texas Association of Future Educators and captain of the Lone Star Rangerettes.
A dedicated dancer, Gage was a recipient of a Staff Invitation at Drill Camp. Organizations Gage has volunteered for during high school include Frisco FastPacs, the blanket project at Children’s Medical Center and Frisco Family Services.
She plans to major in English and minor in dance at Texas Tech University.
Farley is the son of David and Lara Farley. His interests are varied and his high school years have included serving in leadership positions in National Honor Society and Student Council, The Bridge(dedicated to creating understanding between cultures) Club and he is the founder and president of the Harry Potter Club. An Eagle Scout, he was a delegate at Boy’s State, and served on the Mayor’s Youth Council in 2016-17.
Farley is vice president of the Lone Star Best Buddies program and worked as a volunteer at the Special Needs prom.
Farley plans to take part in a mission project and then attend Brigham Young University and major in chemistry.
