Middle School Students Discuss Character with Dallas Cowboys Players

Hunt Middle School Students Connect with Dallas Cowboys PlayersA free resource is helping Frisco ISD middle schools cultivate character and teach students about healthy relationships.

Character Playbook is a series of learning modules provided by the NFL, United Way and education technology leader EverFi.

The modules cover concepts related to positive character development, social-emotional learning and building healthy relationships, including:

  • Analyzing Influences
  • Understanding and Managing Emotions
  • Communicating Effectively
  • Resolving Conflicts
  • Stepping In
  • Making Decisions

Several Frisco ISD middle schools, including Hunt, Nelson and Staley middle schools, recently participated in an online chat to complement the curriculum. Students connected with current Dallas Cowboys players, defensive lineman Tyrone Crawford and safety Byron Jones, to discuss character both on and off of the field.

Frisco ISD is committed to meeting the needs of the whole child, including students’ social, emotional and physical needs, as well as their academic ones.
